I read John Marriott’s article (Spalding Guardian, April 21) about the Brexit statements, hoping that he would produce some concise arguments to combat those claims made by the pro-exit campaigners.
What did I find? A disjointed article that jumped from putting aside the question of immigration (why?) to the European Football Championships.
He then went on to denigrate the UK’s position as the fifth largest economy, before finishing by admitting that he did not want to be part of a European super state, but still thinks we should stay in despite this.
It was, in my opinion, a very disappointing article – and not one to add to any serious debate on the UK’s membership of the EU.
