Primary school pupils had fun dressing up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day.

Harry Potter, Spiderman, Superman and princesses made an appearance in activities enjoyed by children and staff at St Bartholomew’s Primary School in West Pinchbeck.

Youngsters, who are attending lessons in school or at home, had fun reading their favourite story as well as creating an artwork and joining in with a live author session on the day.

Staff members also led a 'Masked Reader' competition on the school's Facebook page in the run-up to World Book Day.

Teacher Rachel Cannon said two videos were added to the page each day which went down well with youngsters.

She said: "The children had to guess who the staff members were and the winner was Charlie-Mai from Palm Class who identified 13 out of 14 videos correctly!"
