Storm Jorge: 52mph winds to batter Spalding area this weekend




Another storm is set to hit south Lincolnshire this weekend, with high winds heading for the the district.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Storm Jorge, as gusts between 40 and 50 miles an hour arrive.

The spell of strong winds is expected to start at around 4am on Saturday and last until about 11am on Sunday.

Currently the yellow warning will remain in place until midday on Sunday.

The Met Office has told people to expect some delays to road and rail transport as a result of the bad weather.

Storm Jorge was named by the Spanish Meteorological Service, and is the third storm to hit the county this month.

Earlier this month Storm Ciara caused chaos. Just weeks later, Storm Dennis battered the area with wind and rain.
