Work is due to start next week on a controversial housing estate - but villagers are urged to complain if it has a detrimental effect on their lives.

Persimmon Homes wants to build 150 homes on land off High Road in Weston, despite opposition from councillors.

Villagers are reported to have been advised by a representative from the developer to take down pictures from the walls.

A spokesperson for Persimmon Homes said: “Piling works are due to begin next week, as approved by the Local Planning Authority.

"The works will not cause any vibration issues and we can confirm that residents have not been advised to remove pictures from their walls.”

Weston Parish Council had fought against the development with chairman Coun Chris Dicks speaking out at various planning meetings.

He said: "We knew at some point piling would take place it will be up to the residents to complain to the Enforcement Officer at South Holland District Council if it has a detrimental effect on their lives."

The parish council is next due to meet on July 4 at Weston Hills Village Hall.
