Work is due to be finished shortly on a new slide in a town park.

Holbeach Parish Council has taped off the new slide which has been installed in Carter’s Park due to safety concerns.

Contractors are due to return today to extend the concrete at the top of the slide and also either side of the structure, according to a council social media post.

It states: “The concrete will then all be covered with rubber safety surfacing, we are waiting for confirmation of the date for this. We will then inspect the slide again and if the work is as per the specification and safe, the slide and play area will be opened up.

“For clarification the council hasn’t paid any money towards the slide, the payment for the work will only be made after it is full complete.

“We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
