Pinchbeck firm has plans to provide wireless broadband alternative
A series of masts could help to spread wireless internet connections to businesses and homes right across South Holland.
Ark ICT Solutions is planning one 21-metre wireless mast at its new offices in Platts Close, Pinchbeck.
The mast could cater for properties in a 12-15 mile radius - with further structures due for locations such as Long Sutton, Weston Hills and Baston.
Owner Phil Callow explained: “Our plan is that we want to have three to four wireless masts around the area with the idea that it would service as much of South Holland as we can.”
Ark says it would look to position the structure in industrial sites to avoid them impacting on the countryside.
The initial idea came in a bid to help Ark customers to be able to access more services - but others will be able to benefit from the chance for better connections.
It’s hoped to provide at least 50MB broadband for homes and 100MB or more for businesses.
The intial set up cost would be about £150, with a monthly fee of about £60.
