Celebrate Mother’s Day in style at Belton Horse Trials
Where are you planning to take mum to celebrate Mother’s Day? Shopping maybe? A meal or a drink? Or perhaps a visit to a beautiful country park? Treat her to the day out at Belton Horse Trials and she can enjoy all of this... and a great deal more.
Set in the stunning grounds of the National Trust’s Belton House near Grantham, in recent years this world-class equestrian event has transformed into a fun-filled family festival. This year, Belton Horse Trials takes place from Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31, which coincides with Mother’s Day.
As well as the wonderful horses and international eventing for which Belton is famous, there so many more things to see and do this year:
Shopping: From top country fashion and footwear brands such as Joules and Fairfax & Favor, to bags, gifts and homeware, the new Shopping Village is where the High Street meets the countryside.
Food: An exciting new Street Food Festival serves up the tempting tastes of India, Italy and Mexico alongside firm favourites like fish and chips, pies and burgers.
Drink: There is a huge selection of drinks to choose from at Belton; Pimms, wines and sparkling wines, ales and the hugely popular Gin Den. Or simply relax with a refreshing cuppa or recharge with a fresh-brewed coffee.
Family Zone: Designed to keep children entertained for hours, the Family Zone is packed with exciting rides and games in the fairground, as well as the much-loved dog shows and demonstrations. If the kids are happy, then so are the parents!
Dog Agility and Show: As well as the dazzling professional displays, visitors’ dogs are welcome to have a go at the agility course. This is always a real treat for dog lovers.
Pony Club Mounted Games: The thrilling Pony Club Mounted Games are another big crowd-pleaser. Small but mighty ponies and their courageous young riders compete in a range of challenges throughout the day.
A day out at Belton Horse Trials makes the perfect Mother’s Day gift. Children under 15 get free admission and Spalding Guardian readers can get a discount of 25 per cent off the usual adult entrance price of £25 on Saturday and Sunday, by using the code IM25 when booking tickets.
For those wanting to make the experience even more special, there is an exclusive Mother’s Day lunch offer on Sunday. This includes entry to the event, forward car parking, fizz reception, sit down hospitality lunch and a Mother’s Day gift bag. These tickets cost £60 for adults and £45 for under-14s.
