Spalding area chicken has developed a passion for travel
An adventurous chicken is enjoying going on a regular walkabout around her village.
Delilah the Polish Silkie has developed a taste for travel and has been regularly leaving her Gosberton area home for trips around the village.
Some of her trips around the village have been documented on the village social media pages.
Owners Erin Jackson and 10-year-old son Miles have become accustomed to her wanderings.
She said: “The first time she left the garden was amazing as she crossed the road. She ended up in the house opposite us.
“Another time we pulled up and she was under someone’s arm.
“We were quite worried to start with as we live in a rural area so you don’t know if she was caught by a fox.
“But we have become more relaxed. Every now and then she disappears.”
The family got their flock of chickens earlier this year and have named some of their girls Martha and Aretha.
Mrs Jackson also cares for Chuck and Pogo the cockerills.
Delilah was the latest addition to the flock and has become a dominant personality.
Mrs Jackson said: “Delilah is number one in the pecking order. When she arrived, the pecking order changed.
“They all have lots of personality. Delilah is my favourite. She has such a big hair-do.”
Polish Silkies are quite a striking breed due to their large plumage.
They are well-known being a quirky and friendly chicken.
