It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to see Santa in his grotto and there are lots of great places to find some festive magic and sparkle this year.

We’ve rounded up some of the best grotto and Father Christmas meet-and-greet experiences across the area for the little (and not so little) ones to enjoy -

• Father Christmas is in residence at Baytree Nurseries Garden Centre, Weston until Christmas Eve. The centre boasts one of the biggest undercover UK grottos, which you can explore before meetingSanta.

To visit Santa, receive a gift and real tree is £9.50 per child; accompanying adults £1.50 and to just visit the Winter Wonderland but not Santa is £1.50 each. The grotto is open 11am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am - 5pm at weekends.

Youngsters can also enjoy tea with Santa at Baytree Restaurant on three selected dates in December.

As well as their meal, children are treated to festive music, crackers and fun with Santa and Reinhard the Reindeer plus a visit to Winter Wonderland. Tickets are £17.50 per child and £14 per adult. (www.baytree-gardencentre.com/christmas)

You can visit him weekdays 4pm to 8pm, Saturdays 10am - 5pm and Sundays 11am to 4pm. On Wednesday, December 21 he is available noon to 8pm, Friday, December 23 11am – 8pm and on Christmas Eve 10am to 3.30pm.
