It was a case of wheels within wheels when clubs met up for a pig roast in aid of a British epilepsy charity.
Spalding Inner Wheel president Annie Bagworth invited members of her own club, Bourne Inner Wheel and Spalding’s Rotary clubs to the event at Welland Yacht Club.
It’s expected some £250-plus will be raised to help epilepsy sufferers – a cause close to Annie’s heart – and the event gave Rotarians and Inner Wheel members a chance to get to know one another.
Annie said: “It was very jovial, full of friendship and full of laughter.”
The event included two quizzes, one revolving around flowers and the second food and drink.
Mandy and Mel Chillingworth, of Pinchbeck Pig Roast Company, provided the roast.
Annie said: “It was absolutely gorgeous and they did all of the salads as well – our ladies provided the sweets.”
Spalding Inner Wheel meets at Welland Yacht Club on the second Thursday of the month.
Members raise money for international causes as well as supporting local charities.
Annie, who also belongs to Rotary, says the club usually has a speaker for its meetings and members also fit in outings, such as a visit to Unique Cottage Studios to paint pots.
