A Weston Hills man caught speeding and driving with no insurance in a Maserati on the M6 has been banned from the road and fined nearly £2,500.
Michael Paul Chinn, of Yewtree House, 47, Old Fendyke Road, changed his plea to guilty after entering a previous plea of not guilty on January 7.
At South and East Cheshire Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Crewe on Monday, Chinn (42) admitted driving a Maserati Ghibli on the M6 south of Knutsford, at Bexton, at a speed exceeding 70mph.
He was disqualified from driving for six months, the disqualification obligatory due to repeat offending. The court rejected an exceptional hardship argument.
Chinn was also fined £750 for the speeding and a further £1,650 for driving with no insurance, a charge he had denied but of which he was found guilty in his absence on January 7.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £120.
The £2,605 must be paid by March 15.
