Help us raise money for new kennels for Jerry Green Dog Rescue at Algarkirk
We’re fundraising for Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s new kennels at their south Lincolnshire centre in Algarkirk and I’m climbing Snowdon in Wales on June 23 to help boost funds.
The centre helps re-home dogs to loving new owners and this week we meet Maggie, a Border Terrier who was adopted by Hannah Scott.
“It was love at first sight when Sophie at the centre sent me a photo of Maggie, (then called Tiggy),” Hannah said.
“Maggie has just been the perfect fit into our lives, after a few teething problems (which the centre were so supportive and helpful with).
“She is the perfect example of a little sister for our other dog William.
“She constantly wants to play with him and he entertains her most of the time! Together they are like peas in a pod.
“He has taught her the ways of snuggling on the sofa and giving the best cuddles.”
We are trying to raise £4,000 for the first new kennel in the block through our Do It For the Dogs appeal.
It’s part of a project that will cost £200,000 overall and will replace the current kennels that have become old, echoey and tired.
The Spalding Guardian and Lincolnshire Free Press appeal for the first £4,000 is currently at £1,563 so there is still a way to go.
To help boost funds for the appeal for the much needed kennels we’re calling on our readers to pledge any spare pennies - or you could come up with your own fundraiser such as a sponsored walk or cake sale.
