FA Cup lifted by young local footballers in 2000 Family seeing double back in 2000

Every young footballer’s dream is to lift the FA Cup at Wembley - and that dream came true in part for members of a Spalding club.

The famous trophy came to town thanks to Spalding Athletic Junior Football Club under-13s manager John Hines, who worked for Peterborough insurance company AXA, sponsors of the FA Cup competition.

A couple were seeing double after the arrival of a second set of twins.

Andrea Sleight (23), of Market Place, Long Sutton, gave birth to twin girls Chloe Estelle and Lydia Caitlin at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn.

The girls join Andrea and husband Darren’s two-year-old twin boys, Cameron and Leon.
