Pupils enjoy acting in St John's production

The heartbreaking story of an orphaned elephant was performed by Spalding schoolchildren.

Years 4 and 5 at St John's Primary School thrilled parents and friends with the play Big Momma.

Teacher Helen Stray said the musical was a hit.

She said: "The story was told through songs. I think it has also raised their environmental awareness.

"The children did really well and was very pleased with how hard the children worked."
