MAN’S BEST FRIEND: A weekly column from the South Lincs Centre of Jerry Green Dog Rescue

We would like to send huge congratulations to our lovely supporter Wendy Ingrey, of Sutterton, who reached Mount Everest base camp last week in aid of raising money for us.

Can you give Gloria a loving home?
Can you give Gloria a loving home?

She has done an amazing job in reaching her goal and has currently raised an incredible £420 which will go towards the dogs in the care of Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

If you would like to sponsor Wendy please visit her Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/wendy-ingrey1

After 20 years and hundreds of dogs, the facilities at Jerry Green South Lincs are ready for a bit of modernisation. Donations from Wendy’s journey will go towards new Meet & Match rooms where the dogs will be introduced to prospective adopters, kennel improvements and a quiet garden area.

We are always on the lookout for people to support us here at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, so if you are interested in taking on a challenge and raising some money to help support the dogs we care for, while having lots of fun along the way, please contact the team on 01205 260546 or email slincs@jerrygreendogs.org.uk

We are always happy for supporters to get involved with fundraising for us, whether it is a climb to Mount Everest base camp or something as simple as a school bake sale!

Gloria needs toys and a massage!

Hello, I’m Gloria and I would really like to have a very quiet, calm home where I can spend my days relaxing.

I have two passions in life: the first is getting to play with toys and the second, and my favourite, is having very gentle massages.

These always chill me out and relax me. I also do enjoy going out on walks and am a favourite with the volunteers as I am very gentle on my lead.

I feel a home with adults would be best for me although I could be happy with teenagers who understand that I can get a bit overexcited and bouncy at times.

If you feel like you have a good massage technique to try out on me please call my friends on 01205 260546 to come and see me. Hope to see you soon!

Six-week adult dog training course at Jerry Green

How you interact with, and teach your dog will have a huge influence on their outlook on life and the choices they make. Nobody wants to get it wrong, but with so much conflicting advice out there, how can you know what is right?

At Jerry Green Dog Rescue we run regular training classes to help you and your dog learn together. Our adult dog training class is a six-week course and follows our Jerry Green Brilliant Dog award, beginning with our Bronze level.

Our next course is due to start on Monday, March 5.

If you would like some more information, please call our Centre on 01205 260546.
