Website for Big Society ideas

Have your say

RESIDENTS’ ideas on ways of making South Holland a better place to live can now be shared on a new website.

The Civicrowd page on South Holland District Council’s website encourages everyone to put forward their Big Society ideas which they feel would make a real difference to their community/

The website also gives you the chance to vote on and rate ideas, as well as leave your comments.

The most popular ideas could even receive funding through district councillors’ Designated Members’ Budgets.

The Big Society concept is about people helping themselves to get things done rather than relying on services simpny being provided by the local council.

Coun Nick Worth, who holds the portfolio for Big Society and Localism, said: “It is all about people getting involved and making a real difference to the communities they live in. It is really important we hear from people to see what they think can be done to improve or change things.”

The designated Member Budget Scheme provides £5,000 per financial year for each ward member to help fund grassroots community projects.
