Watch Spalding artist Kyra Hussey new music video
A Spalding artist is set for stardom after recording with a top London studio which has worked with big names like Stormzy.
Kyra Hussey (18), who is using the stage name of Kyra Jinx, says her dreams came true when she went down to Hot Money Studios to record her single, Side Ho, earlier this year.
Former Spalding Academy student Kyra released the music video for her single yesterday and has appeared on BBC Introducing...Lincolnshire.
Kyra, who has been inspired by Grime and RnB artists, has been writing music from a young age and was thrilled to go to London to record the single.
She said: "All of my life I have wanted to properly record a single in a studio.
"I can't explain what it meant to me to go to the studio and stand in that booth and hear my recording. It was a dream come true."
After being taught to play guitar by her dad, Sean Hussey, Kyra soon moved into writing lyrics.
She said: "Ihave always loved to express myself through lyrics.
"I write from things I have seen. All of my lyrics are from the heart but some are fact and others from my imagination."
The video for Side Ho is also inspired by Kyra's love for gaming.
Kyra said of the video, which is set in an arcade near London: "I am in love with any sort of gaming.
"It was a lot of fun to shoot the video. Everything about the music video was about exploring."
Kyra, who is being supported in her dreams by proud parents Sean and Pamela Keen, also has her own streaming channel.
She said: "I would love to be a fulltime streamer but I would also love to be a big artist and get my music out there."
Owner of Hot Money Studio Patrick Osei has worked with the likes of Glastonbury headliner Stormzy along with Jessica Wright and former X-Factor judge Tullisa.
He said: "I think Kyra has a bright future.
"I think she can go all the way to the top."
