A wallaby has been reported missing.

Tiny Steps Petting Farm in Thurlby has put an appeal on Facebook that the seven-month-old joey, named Ant, is missing.

Ant is believed to have escaped last night (Tuesday) or the early hours of this morning and was last seen in Lound.

Staff at the petting farm believe Ant may be trying to reach Bourne Wood but are hoping to corner him into a contained location.

The animal is rather skittish according to staff and so people are unlikely to get close to him without him hopping away.

Because of the size and colour of the animal, it could be mistaken for a deer but has a distinctive hopping movement.

It is understood that police have been informed.

If spotted, people should get in touch with the petting farm on 07985 421276.
