Volunteering opportunities in Spalding and district

Have your say

Can you help Spalding Primary School with its summer fete?

Charity shops rely on their wonderful volunteers to raise much needed resources for many different causes and if you only have an hour or two to spare there are many charity shops in South Holland that would appreciate the help.

However, I have lots of potential volunteers who come to see me whose first line is often, ‘I don’t want to volunteer in a charity shop’ and are surprised at the wide range of different opportunities available.

If you would like to look for something where you can use your skills or learn new skills, we have volunteering opportunities that cover: administration, such as receptionist, filing, being on committees, taking minutes and helping with fundraising and accounts.

If you like being outdoors, we have gardening, DIY, fishing and helping out at sports clubs.

If you prefer chatting to people, have you considered being a befriender, taking someone shopping and supporting people with disabilities? Do you enjoy driving? If so we have many different opportunities available, either using your own car, or driving a mini-bus.

Whatever you are interested in, we will try and find something that will match your skills and interests and if you don’t want to commit to long-term to volunteering, how about one off events?

Can You Help?

Spalding Primary School PTA is having its annual Summer Fair on Saturday, July 2 and wants it to be a fun-filled afternoon for everyone to enjoy but needs some help to make the day a success. To enable the event this year to be a hit they require lots of help prior to the fair and during the day.

Could you help set up the gazebos and marquee on the Thursday evening? Help set up the stalls on the Friday or Saturday or help out on the day itself? The more volunteers they have, the more stalls, activities and games they can offer during the day.
