Spalding volunteer team delivers its final sprinkle of joy
A team of volunteers who came together to take care of residents in the wake of the coronavirus crisis has made the decision to stop the service.
Following a decrease in calls to the group from those in need of help and an increase in support for residents from South Holland District Council, the committee which runs the Spalding COVID Kindness Team has announced that it will be wrapping up on June 28.
Committee member Keira Williamson said: “As the weeks have gone on, and particularly after Boris Johnson’s statement on May 10, we found that the calls coming in to us were less frequent – in the beginning of setting up the group we were averaging around 30 calls a day and probably even more on some days.
