Tydd St Mary pupils enjoy World Book Day

A school's virtual storytime has been enjoyed by more than 80 people as part of World Book Day celebrations.

Tydd St Mary Primary School staff dressed as a giraffe, shark, hedgehog and pencil shared their favourite stories over a live zoom call.

Activities included quizzes, spot the difference, true or false questions, challenges, a drawing masterclass with Nick Sharratt and some even leapt up to take part in dance classes!

A school spokesman said: "A timetable was shared with the children and over 80 joined (along with younger and older brothers and sisters, and mums and dads too) for stories throughout the day, many of them dressing up as book characters for the occasion despite being at home.

"Another lovely day to be part of the school community."
