STAFF at a Spalding vets’ surgery enjoyed sweet success when they sold cakes for charity during National Pet Month.

More than £251 was raised at Riverside Veterinary Practice in Cradge Bank during April.

Receptionist Karon Rayner said: “Members of staff and our clients baked, and we ran competitions and a raffle.

“We would especially like to thank three of our clients who did lots of baking for us – including 30 crumbles – and all of our customers who came in, bought cakes and supported us.”

Proceeds were divided between local charities Pets as Therapy and Fenland Riding for the Disabled.

As well as helping charities, National Pet Month promotes responsible pet ownership.
