Man suffers injuries after vehicle fell on him in Spalding

A man suffered serious injuries after the vehicle he was working on fell on top of him.

The incident in St Paul's Road in Spalding was reported to the emergency services just after 3pm on Monday.

The man was said to be working underneath the vehicle on a private drive way when it fell.

An air ambulance landed on Royce Road field, while fire and police crews attended the scene amid concerns for the man's safety.

Police confirmed the man was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as 'serious' - but there are no suspicious circumstances to what appears to have been an accident.

A spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 3.03pm on 23 May to a private address in Spalding. The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent two paramedics in fast response cars and a crewed ambulance. The air ambulance was also in attendance. One patient was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge via air ambulance.”
