Firefighters from Spalding are continuing to help with the rescue operation following flooding in Leeds.

The boat team have been working throughout the night after the River Aire overflowed.

In the latest update from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, the crew have so far rescued eight adults, a cat and a dog trapped on narrow boats after pontoons became submerged.

Heavy rain which caused roads in central Leeds to flood is expected to ease today.

A severe flood warning remains in place on the River Aire.

The Met Office has issued hundreds of flood alerts and warnings - more than 30 of them severe.

However, no warnings are in place across South Holland. Residents can expect light rain today and a temperature of 11C.
