At Tydd St Mary Primary School, staff and pupils held a St George Day Parade through the village and re-enacted the ancient tale of St George fighting the dragon to protect a fair maiden (below and right).

Weston St Mary CE Primary School also marked the day, this time with a spring fete where visitors were treated to an impressive performance of music by Unknown Artist, a group of talented musicians from the local area.

Pupils from Key Stage Two, helped by teaching assistant Mrs Webb, manned stalls with children’s games.

Despite lots of encouragement headteacher Nick Newitt refused to go in the stocks, but enjoyed watching children, parents and staff being soaked. Refreshments were provided by the Friends of Weston.
