Long Sutton Men's Shed raise vital funds

Two members of Long Sutton Men’s Shed successfully completed the Cancer Research Race for Life in Norfolk.

Ray Howard and Frank Heinrich-Tiller were joined for the 5k walk by the Shed’s mascot Poppy, a King Charles Cavalier, raising much needed funds to support the vital work of Cancer Research UK.

The event took place in the grounds of Houghton Hall, starting at 7pm to avoid the heat of the day.

Frank said: "It was a really pleasant early evening stroll in the park and Team Long Sutton Men’s Shed raised more than £350 - including £50 raised in sponsorship of Poppy.

"Unfortunately both Ray and I have recently lost our partners to cancer and we want to do what we can to ensure as much funding as possible is raised to help Cancer Research UK do all they can to beat cancer."

Both Ray and Frank thank their supporters and sponsors - and hope to raise even more next year.
