Spalding looks like getting two new off-licences with applications made for premises in Winsover Road and Station Street.
A delicatessen called Kabanosik at 14-16 Winsover Road could be selling booze from 9am-7pm on Christmas Day if South Holland District Council grants in full an application from Miss Beata Szlazak.
Other licensing hours applied for at the shop are Monday-Saturday – 9am-10pm, Sunday – 10am-8pm, and Bank Holiday Mondays – 10am-4pm.
A new restaurant at 25 Station Road, called Station 25, wants to sell booze both as an off licence and to its on premises customers.
The application for the Station Road business is being made by Ms Laura Norvaisaite and Mr Mingele Petruliene.
Their applications is for late night refreshment (on and off) Monday-Sunday – 11pm-11-45pm, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve 11pm-3am.
On-sales applied for are Monday-Sunday – 11am-11.30pm and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve 11am-3am.
• The closing date for representations to be received by the council are Wednesday, June 1 for Station 25 and Tuesday, June 14 for Kabanosik.
A council spokesman told us if an application receives objections the issue will be decided by the licensing committee – if there are no objections the licences will be granted.
No one was available at either of the premises to comment to the Free Press and Spalding Guardian.
Station 25 has not yet begun trading.
