Moore Thompson, one of the region’s leading independent accountancy firms, has announced the promotion of two new partners, as the firm looks to expand its influence in the east of England.

Matthew Upex and Matt Storey have recently been appointed as partners at the firm, which has offices in Spalding, and also Peterborough, Market Deeping and Wisbech.

Each of them has spent years in the practice building close relationships with clients and local professional contacts, making them the ideal candidates for the new roles.

Matt Storey, previously a manager at the firm, will advise clients in Spalding under his new role, while Matthew Upex will take up a position as the resident partner in Market Deeping, where he was previously a manager.

Mark Hildred, managing partner at Moore Thompson, said: “We are delighted to announce these new promotions at Moore Thompson. Both Matts have demonstrated an extraordinary level of commitment to their role and are more than deserving of the privilege of becoming a partner within our practice.

“Our firm continues to grow and we are excited that through these new promotions we will be able to offer our expertise to a wider audience.”

The promotions are part of a wider strategy within the firm to aid its expansion. This also includes its recent merger with Peterborough-based accountants S R Howell & Co, which has seen Moore Thompson open a new office in Forder Way Hampton, Peterborough.
