TWO men are in hospital with serious injuries after a crash at Deeping St Nicholas.

Emergency services were called to the A1175 just before 9pm on Tuesday.

A black Volkswagen Corrado had left the road and collided with an electricity transformer.

The driver and his passenger were trapped for a short while and then transferred to the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston with serious injuries.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Holbeach, was later transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a critical condition with head injuries.

His passenger, an 18-year-old man from Whaplode, remains in the Pilgrim with injuries including two broken legs.

The road was closed for around 12 hours.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw the Corrado either before the collision or saw the accident itself.
