The worries of families at home with sons serving at the front was highlighted 100 years ago.
Mr and Mrs J Burt, of Twenty, were said to have “their share of war trouble” in 1916.
They had two sons of military age who had volunteered for active service.
James Burt (Lincs Regiment) had been reported missing after the great charge at Hooge.
His brother William (6th Lincolns) had been severely wounded at Gallipoli.
