Spalding riverbank to get a splash of colour from tulips

Tulips will add a splash of colour to the riverbank opposite Spalding's Chain Bridge Forge next spring.

Coun Jack McLean, Vanessa Browning, Coun Gary Taylor and a volunteer called Mim planted around 500 bulbs on Sunday.

Coun McLean said the tulips are in keeping with Spalding's heritage and the project was made possible by a generous donation from Taylors Bulbs.

Now the team are looking to brighten up other bleak spots on the riverside.
