A group of Spalding schoolchildren met Henry VIII at Burghley House in Stamford.
The Ayscoughfee Hall School children from Year 5 visited the house to experience a Tudor Christmas.
A member of staff said: “Their exciting day began when they met Henry VIII and ended with a chilling ghost story in a candlelit room.
“The children played traditional games and took part in Tudor dancing. They looked amazing in their costumes, especially in the setting of a real Tudor house. It was an enjoyable day which brought their history topic to life.”
• RIGHT Pupils also had great fun decorating the Christmas tree in the hall using decorations they made in class. Year 3 and 4 decorated a tree with angels for Broad Street Methodist Church’s festival.
