Young cyclist (12) injured in collision after school in Spalding

A 12-year-old girl suffered a leg injury after colliding with a blue car in Spalding on Tuesday.

The collision happened at the junction of Priory Road and St Thomas’s Road, near Spalding Primary School, between 3.20pm and 3.30pm.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “A 12 year-old girl sustained a minor leg injury after coming off her bike following a collision with a blue car near the school gates.

“The driver did stop briefly at the scene but no contact details were left.”

Anyone with information should call PC Stuart Munro at Spalding Police Station on 101, quoting incident 242 of January 13.

Meanwhile, two people had to be freed from their cars after separate crashes on the A17 in Fleet Hargate and the A152 in Quadring at the weekend.

The first incident happened on Friday just after 6.20pm when firefighters used hydraulic gear to release the driver of a car on the A17.

Then on Saturday, firefighters from Donington and Spalding helped a casualty found in a ditch off the A152 after a crash which took place just before 6.35pm.
