Two men suffered fractures after a campervan and car crashed in Whaplode on the night of Good Friday.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to free one of the injured after a Fiat campervan collided with a Dacia in Stockwell Gate just after 9.15pm.

The driver of the Fiat, from Derbyshire, was treated for a fractured ankle while the Dacia driver, a man in his 30s and from the Whaplode area, also had fractures.

A woman, also from Derbyshire, was a passenger in the Fiat but it’s not known whether she was also injured.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Spalding were called to a crash on the A16 Springfields Roundabout in Spalding where a lorry was leaking fuel.

Specialist environmental gear was used too clean up the spillage and stem the leak from the lorry’s fuel tank, however, it isn’t known whether anyone was injured.
