Motorcyclist injured in road crash in Bourne

A 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car in Bourne today.

The man was riding a grey Triumph Thunderbird 1,700cc motorbike when it collided with a blue Volkswagen Polo on the A151 Spalding Road at about 7.30am

An air ambulance flew the man to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, where he is being treated for serious leg injuries.

The Polo driver, a 51-year-old woman from the Bourne area, suffered minor injuries.

Police closed a section of Spalding Road for about two-and-a-half hours and diversions were put in place, with the road beiong reopened at about 10am.
