Five-vehicle crash closes Crowland road

A FIVE-vehicle crash closed the main Crowland to Peterborough road for three hours yesterday.

The accident happened just after 12.30pm at the A1073 junction with the B1143, known as Mason’s Bridge.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that five vehicles were involved in the crash but the only details they had to hand were for an Iveco lorry.

Ambulance crews attended the scene and three people were taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

Their injuries were described by police as “non life-threatening”but further details were not available.

The road was cleared and re-opened to traffic at 3.20pm.
