Family ‘not expected to have survived’ A1073 smash

Have your say

EMERGENCY services feared there would be three deaths as a result of last week’s crash on the new A1073.

Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership spokesman John Siddle said the incident last Wednesday, in which a baby boy and his parents were plucked from the wreckage of their car, was initially expected to be fatal.

He said: “It was amazing that they all pulled through. It was very close.”

He said speed had not been a factor in the crash.

The collision followed another lucky escape on our roads on June 1. Eight people went to hospital after a ten-vehicle pile up on the A17 at Fleet.
