Drivers reportedly faced travel chaos while going to work after problems with a level crossing near Spalding this morning.
People were apparently being diverted away from Littleworth level crossing, Deeping St Nicholas, because of a system fault which meant that the barriers stayed down.
The problem was reported at about 6.30am and if so, this would be the third time such problems have hit the area after Mill Lane level crossing in Woolram Wygate, Spalding, suffered a similar fault last Monday and Friday.
There was also a problem at Park Road level crossing, Spalding, also on Monday.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “There was an issue with the signalling systems from 5.23am to 09.02am this morning.
“The barriers were down in order to protect safety and our team responded as quickly as possible.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to the public.”
