Gosberton Clough and Risegate

THE New Name Group of Sibsey is leading the harvest service at the Gosberton Risegate Methodist Church on Sunday, September 9 at 2.30pm, followed by tea. The harvest continues on Monday, September 10 at 7pm with an auction and supper. Proceeds for chapel funds.

THE harvest festival at Gosberton Clough Methodist Church starts on Sunday with a service at 2.30pm. This will be followed by tea. The harvest continues on Monday at 7.15pm with a supper and sale of harvest produce.

Holbeach Drove

HARVEST service will be held at the Methodist Church on Sunday, September 9, at 6pm. On Monday, September 10, at 7pm, a short service will be followed by the sale of produce. All welcome.


KIRTON Brass Band has a gala concert on Saturday, October 6, in St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Kirton, in aid of the church roof appeal. Special guest will be Lucy Landymore BBC’s Young Percussionist of the Year 2010. The band is thrilled that Lucy has accepted its invitation and she will no doubt bring along her expertise to add to an exciting evening, along with the bands’ own repetoire under the baton of Nick Tudball. The Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire and his wife and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Boston will be guests on the evening. Tickets will also soon be available for the Kirton Parish Council’s annual Last Night of the Proms on Saturday, October 27; details to follow.


THERE is a Pop-In at the church hall this Saturday, noon-1.15pm. Cost £3.50, all welcome.

ON Tuesday, September 4, at 2.30pm, T4U meet at the Baptist Church with Mary Evans speaking on her Kenyan adventure.

ALSO on Tuesday, September 4, at the Baptist Church at 7.30pm the Royal British Legion have a meeting.

THERE is no Glen Haven Communion Service on September 5.

LINCOLNSHIRE Old Churches Trust sponsored cycle ride takes place on Saturday, September 8. The Rev Paul Hardingham is doing the ride and the sponsor form is in the church, or telephone 01775 840803 if you wish to ride with him.

ON Sunday, September 9, the Burtey Fen Collection has as its guest organist Alastair Kiernan, at 2.30pm. Tickets at £8, and further information, on 01775 766081.

A FLOWER arranging demonstration in St Mary’s Church Hall by Wendy Goodliff is on Friday, October 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 each from Pat Lake (01775 724487) or Aileen Workman (01775 768944).


BROAD Street Methodist Church is holding a coffee morning and snack lunches on Saturday, between 10am and 1pm. Cakes, preserves and Fairtrade will also be available.
