TUI to close 166 high street stores across the UK and Ireland

Tour operator TUI, which has a branch in Spalding, has announced that it will be closing 166 of its high street stores.

It has been reported that around 350 shops will remain following the closures. The travel firm says that the closures are as a result of changes in customers' shopping habits with more bookings being made online "accelerated" by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have approached TUI to ask which stores will be affected but it has not yet been announced which branches are to close. TUI says that as it’s a consultation they are not able to confirm locations until the consultation process has been completed.
