Time to crown Moulton’s tulip ‘royals’

Moulton Chapel Tulip Time’s queen, prince and princess have been chosen.

On Thursday, with local poet Benjamin Zephaniah and author of Bamse Came Too Anna Mandell as judges, the children who would ride on a decorated float were chosen, based on strong personality.

They were interviewed by the judges who asked about their hobbies and interests.

Entrants came from Moulton Chapel, as well as the surrounding areas.

The winners were Porsche Groom, 12, as the queen. Princess is Isla Cameron, 6, and the prince is Zachary Simpson, 7.

They received sashes of office and all three of them are from Moulton Chapel. All entrants won gift vouchers.

Chairman of the Tulip Time committee, Jenny Stanberry, said: “The children are really representing the village and everyone on the committee is very enthusiastic.” The parade will be on May 3.
