EDWARD Road in Spalding is currently undergoing maintenance work resulting in the closure of the road, bringing back memories of more than half a century ago for Kelvyn Foster.

Kelvyn, of East Cobgate, Moulton, said approximately 60 years ago the road was closed with its junction with Wygate Road for some culvert work to be carried out.

He says: “At the time I was living at No 38 where I was born and was about five years old. At some time in the 1960s these photographs were given to me by one of the workmen who was working for the drainage board.

“In the far distance of one of the photographs beyond the pre-fabs the water tower is not visible, so possibly had not been built at the time the photograph was taken.”
