Thousands of residents enjoyed Friday’s Pumpkin Festival in Spalding – but not by magic.
Police say the family event passed without any major incidents reported.
Some PCSOs had changed shifts and others volunteered their free time to support officers patrolling the streets around the town centre where the festival was held.
Earlier that day, PCSOs were out with a South Holland District Council community safety officer searching hotspots where drinking in the streets has been a problem, including car parks and toilets.
Free Press says: “PCSOs giving up their time for free – a wonderful example of the push to make this town better – WELL DONE AND THANKS.”
