GAME REVIEW: HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION (XONE) – OUT NOW
This is the gaming equivalent to the Xbox One that the Half-Life 2 ‘The Orange Box’ collection was to the fledgling life of last-gen consoles.
One sensational package that covers all numbered versions of the Halo series that featured the infamous warrior Master Chief (so everything bar ODST and Reach) – including a particularly spruced-up Halo 2: Anniversary edition – along with all multiplayer maps connected to all the games.
Current intermittent teething problems for multiplayer aside (which should be ironed out soon) this is gaming heaven for any Halo fan or newbie to the franchise – as this shows why it was the first-person shooter inspiration for a generation.
All the games hold up well with their next-gen gloss (and in 1080 fps) – with Halo 5: Guardians due out next year – and proves why the series has been chief for so long.
