Sporty youngsters learned cricketing skills during an eight-week programme.

Children aged five to eight have been going along to Long Sutton Cricket Club on Wednesday nights to take part in the ECB’s All Stars Cricket scheme.

The scheme - for boys and girls - aims to teach children the basics of the game in a bid to foster a passion for it as they grow up.

The cricket club has a busy programme of events for all ages.

Girls-only Allstars and Dynamos sessions - for 5-8s and 8-11s respectively - are also being run, with almost all spaces snapped up.

Another upcoming event is a women's softball cricket festival - taking place on Sunday, August 7 from 11am.

Entry costs £2 per player with a bar, music, barbexue and free glass of prosecco on offer.
