Patient wants to know why Spalding GP Surgery decision was kept secret
A frustrated patient fears he will have no choice over his future GP practice - and wants to know why health chiefs kept their decision to axe a surgery secret for weeks.
George Scott has launched a campaign to try to force the NHS to rethink its plans to stop the Spalding GP Surgery in the Johnson Hospital.
He signed up to the practice after leaving the Munro Medical Centre and does not want to go back - but a consultation event last week left him fearing the worst.
He said: “What gets my goat is that we’re not going to be asked which surgery we go to. I came away from the Munro and if they put us back what do we do?”
He said plenty of patients are upset - while many others are still unaware - and added: “How come it was talked about in May by them and nobody else knew about it?”
The consultation runs until September 7. The next event will be held on Thursday, August 18 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in the patio room at Springfields Events & Conference Centre, Spalding.
