There's gnome place like home in Fleet
With so many people spending so much time at gnome, a pair of cheeky visitors have been helping to brighten up lockdown for children in Fleet.
A pair of gnomes have been on a tour of homes around the village over the last few weeks, with a little help from a friend.
Youngsters have been eagerly looking out of their front doors to see if the gnomes have arrived.
The Gnomes Tour has been documented on a village social media group.
The Horns in Old Fleet Road are among the families to have been visited by the gnomes, nicknamed Boris and Dominic.
Mum Rachel said: “It was great to find the gnomes. My 11-year-old daughter Kerry was ecstatic.
“It has given us a lot of fun as we walk around the village to look for the gnomes. It brightens up our days.”
South Holland district councillor Peter Coupland said the gnomes have visited a number of homes in the village. He said:” The children have been excited to see them.”
The gnomes are being helped around the village by a friend who would prefer to remain anonymous.
The Christmas gnone arrived in the village first and has been joined by a friend during the tour.
The, who often arrives during the evening to help the gnomes onto their next destination, said: “It has been really good fun for the children. They love it.”
