South Holland Rotary Club entertained representatives of organisations that had helped with the 2017 Christmas Sleigh Collection.

In all, 14 organisations had participated and most were able to send along a member to have a meal and receive a cheque.

Without these groups, Santa and his sleigh might not be able to visit the streets of Spalding during the Christmas period.

Cheques were presented to: Spalding Gym Club, Spalding Rugby Club, Spalding Duke of Edinurgh Awards Scheme, Ayscoughfee School PTA, Spalding Phab, 1406 (Spalding) Squadron Air Training Corps, Broad Street Methodist Church Group, Spalding and District Young Farmers Club, Hope and Homes for Children, Spalding and Welland Rotary Club, 1st Pinchbeck Girl Guides and C/P Wygate Park PTA Team.

The remainder of the collections so generously given by the people of Spalding will be distributed to other deserving good causes during the remainder of the Rotary year (up to end of June). During the 30 years the sleigh has been operated, the Rotary Club of South Holland has collected and distributed in excess of £230,000.
