A dog owner has said how thankful she is to a dog home for the care they gave to a dog she went on to adopt from them.
Henry the Westie was taken to Jerry Green Rescue in Algarkirk as a cruelty case, after he was found wandering near a nursing home in Spalding by a minibus driver for the home. Dawn Field from Fishtoft was volunteering as a dog walker after her other westie dog had passed away a few months earlier. She said: “As soon as I saw Henry I knew I had to adopt him. “I had to wait a few months until his skin condition was improving enough for me to take him home. “Every Saturday I was allowed to help the staff bath him so that I could carry on his treatment and also for him to get to know me and trust me. “He had to be bathed every day to begin with, but now it is every 3 days. His fur is still thin in places but he is doing well considering the state he was in 18 months ago. “I owe my thanks to Jerry Green for the wonderful work they did with Henry, enabling me to adopt him.”
