Teenagers from South Holland took part in a fancy dress sponsored walk in Crowland, raising money for two charities.
Teenagers walked laps of the Snowden Field to raise money for When You Wish Upon A Star – a charity which specialises in making dreams come true for children with terminal illnesses – and Little Rainbows Childcare in Crowland.
The money raised by the group will be split in half and the teenagers will use one half to purchase materials in order to re-decorate the outside play area at Little Rainbows Childcare.
The walk is part of a four-week programme as part of the Government-funded National Citizen Service where teenagers aged 15-17 take part in projects in order to build skills for work and life.
Organiser Connie Marquez said: “As part of the fund raising effort, some of the group have given up using Facebook or talking for a few days and the walk was to help boost our total. It was great fun and it went well – plus everyone really enjoyed dressing up.”
